If a friend wrecks your car, who pays? At one time or another, we’ve all probably let someone borrow our vehicle. There is one simple rule- Insurance always follows the car, not the driver. While it’s not a good idea to lend your car out all the time, as long as the driver is legally licensed and driving the car with your permission, your insurance pays, not theirs. Therefore, don’t borrow someone’s car unless you are certain they have it insured.
